A woman with dark brown hair and smoky eye makeup, dressed in a black blazer and pants, sitting on a fountain ledge at night. The fountain features multiple sculptures of children and water jets, illuminated by warm lighting, with rain visible in the background.
Two women sitting closely on a wooden park bench at night, with greenery behind them. Both are dressed stylishly, with one wearing a black blazer and lace detail, and the other in a satin white corset top and black jacket. They are looking at the camera, with one woman having short hair and the other long hair, both with confident expressions.

TECHNICAL NOTE

Night photography is challenging for many photographers and beginners due to low light and the need to shoot at various locations while the models pose differently. Incorrect camera settings often result in blurry or underexposed/overexposed images.

For your reference, to achieve bright, clear and sharp images like photos on this page, the main settings on my Nikon Z9 when using the Nikon Z 70-180mm f/2.8 lens were:

- Metering: Matrix
- Exposure Mode: Shutter Priority
- Shutter Speed: Set between 1/60s and 1/125s. The camera will automatically control the aperture and will change it depending on the lighting conditions.
- ISO: 3200
- White Balance: Pre-set D1, Auto0
- Picture Control: Standard
- Focus Mode: AF-C (continuous)
- AF-Area Mode: Single-point AF or Auto-area AF with face detection
- Exposure Compensation: -0.3EV to +0.3EV
- Flash: No flash
- Image Size: 8K (original). Images uploaded to website: 4K
